Beyoncé Not Performing at the DNC, AP Reports

Social media was aflutter Thursday night with speculation that a surprise special guest would appear at the DNC before Vice President Kamala Harris takes the stage.

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift were frequent targets of speculation. Harris has been using Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” frequently on the campaign trail .

Despite speculation about a potential surprise appearance by Beyoncé, a source involved in the evening’s planning who was not authorized to discuss it publicly told the Associated Press that she would not be in attendance.

The DNC had already announced some performers for Thursday, with country group The Chicks singing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” and pop star Pink announced as a performer.
